Bishkek, July 10, 2026. /Kabar/. China Railway State Corporation and Ministry of Transport and Communications held a working meeting in Bishkek.
According to the ministry, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Almaz Turgunbaev and delegation led by Wang Jinxi, member of the board of directors of China Railway Corporation, participated in the event.
The parties discussed the progress of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project and emphasized that the project has now entered the active construction phase.
During the meeting, it was noted that key international and investment agreements have been signed, the general contractor has been selected, and financial matters have been resolved. Construction of tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure is currently underway at these sites.
"Kyrgyz side emphasized the need to engage local labor in the project's implementation, procure construction materials and equipment from domestic manufacturers, and strictly adhere to environmental requirements and measures to protect historical and cultural heritage," the statement says.
Furthermore, the importance of ensuring transparency during construction and preventing corruption risks was emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to continue working together to further accelerate the pace of construction to ensure the timely commissioning of the railway.
