Agreements optimizing military transport within the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) have entered into force, BelTA learned from the organization’s press service.

Two protocols signed at the CSTO Collective Security Council session in Astana on 28 November 2024 have become effective: a protocol on amendments to the agreement on cooperation among CSTO member states in the transport of military and other formations, their movable property, and military-related products, and a protocol on amendments to the agreement on the status of formations of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system.

“The implementation of the provisions of these documents will increase the level of efficiency in organizing and carrying out transport operations within the CSTO when troops (collective forces) carry out their designated tasks, as well as improve the legal regulation of issues related to ensuring transportation, including during joint exercises and snap inspections,” the press service noted.

The CSTO clarified that the international treaties have been ratified in the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan and duly entered into force for these states on 2 March 2026.
