EDB: Investments in Kyrgyzstan's economy increase by 58%

Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2026. /Kabar/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) notes a high inflow of investments into the Kyrgyz economy. Compared to 2025, their level has increased more than 50%. Significant investments in key sectors are creating sustainable areas for long-term growth. Aigul Berdigulova, EDB economist told Kabar about the factors supporting Kyrgyzstan's sustainable development trajectory and the robust growth of key macroeconomic indicators.

"Economic activity in Kyrgyzstan is expanding at a rate close to 11%, maintaining its leadership in the region in GDP growth." Investments are the key driver, with their volume this year 58% higher than the January-July 2025 level. This impetus is being driven by the implementation of the public investment program, which is aimed at developing infrastructure projects in energy, transport, and water supply. Strong domestic demand is also having an impact: retail sales grew by 14.9%, and hotel and restaurant services by 9.3%.

The investment will continue to underpin economic growth in the medium term, ensuring sustainable momentum in the coming years. By 2030, the government plans to implement 200 projects in energy, tourism, industry, education, and healthcare," concluded Aigul Berdigulova.
