Emergency minister and Russian ambassador discuss emergency prevention

Bishkek, March 17, 2026. /Kabar/. The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanatbek Chynybaev, and the Russian Ambassador, Sergei Vakunov, discussed the development of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in emergency prevention and response.

According to the ministry's press service, the implementation of a technical assistance project from the Russian government in 2023 was noted as an example of effective cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects, including the CIS interstate target program for the reclamation of areas affected by uranium mining operations, implemented with the participation of the state corporation Rosatom, personnel training, and prospects for cooperation in the educational sector, including the project to build a training fire department on the premises of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation and implement joint initiatives in emergency prevention and response.
