Bishkek, Jan. 14, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is in the final stage of leaving the European Union's "black list", Kanat Tologonov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Civil Aviation told Kabar.

According to him, on October 7-8 last year, delegation of the Civil Aviation Agency visited Brussels and held a number of meetings with representatives of the European Commission.

"Then we provided information on the work done by the country to remove from the "black list", bringing the base of legal and regulatory acts in the aviation sector into line with international standards, and on training inspectors. As result, the European Commission gave a positive assessment. Now, at the next stage, representatives of the European Commission should come and conduct audit of how we issue certificates to airlines. We have started certification. Currently, 11 companies have been certified. If these works are completed in mid-February, they will come at the end of March and review the certification process again. After that, the issue of removing Kyrgyzstan from the "black list" will be considered by the European Commission's Transport Committee," he said.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan has been on the European Union's "black list" for flight safety since 2006. Work on removing it began in 2023. Since then, number of works have been carried out to bring the country's aviation sector into line with international standards.
