Bishkek, April 15, 2026 /Kabar/. The meeting took place in Washington on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group Spring Meetings, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the parties summarized the results of the systematic work to launch satellite internet in the Kyrgyz Republic and the completion of the process of obtaining all necessary permits for the launch of the pilot project.
Adylbek Kasymaliev recalled that the strategic objective of ensuring a pilot launch of the service was set for the parties during last year's negotiations. Since then, the country's government agencies have completed comprehensive work to develop the necessary regulatory framework.
In turn, Starlink has fulfilled all necessary requirements and signed agreements with the authorized government agencies.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the upcoming technical launch of the service, which is planned for the near future.
The parties discussed the expected significant social impact of introducing satellite internet: providing access to high-speed communications for residents of remote and hard-to-reach communities, as well as connecting schools, medical institutions, and other social facilities to digital resources.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to further fruitful cooperation and coordination of efforts aimed at the successful launch of the service and the implementation of socially significant initiatives in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The pilot project will be implemented on the principles of openness and equal conditions. All companies providing satellite Internet services can participate in it, provided they fully comply with the established requirements.
