Bishkek, June 8, 2026 /Kabar/. A meeting between Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and Cypriot Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos is underway in Bishkek. The Cypriot minister arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit the day before.
The two sides are currently holding extended talks to discuss further cooperation.
During the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev emphasized Kyrgyzstan's interest in expanding cooperation in foreign policy.
According to him, a number of joint initiatives exist within the framework of multilateral cooperation at the UN, OSCE, and the European Union. The Kyrgyz foreign minister also noted that today's meeting provides a good opportunity for a detailed discussion of these issues, adding that strengthening further contacts between the two countries' foreign ministries is crucial.
"Certainly, it is necessary to further strengthen cooperation between our foreign ministries. I am confident that the Cooperation Program between the Foreign Ministries for 2027–2028, which will be signed today, further strengthens our ties and take bilateral cooperation to a new level. I am deeply convinced that today we will be able to conduct an open, meaningful, and fruitful dialogue on all pressing issues of our partnership," Jeenbek Kulubaev said.
