Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2025. /Kabar/. The hallmarking laboratories for imported jewelry will be opened at airports of Kyrgyzstan, Almambet Shykmamatov, Chairman of State Tax Service informed at Jogorku Kenesh meeting.
According to him, jewelers are currently forced to deliver imported items to special buildings and wait in lines for hallmarking.
"Based on the experience of developed countries, the possibility of hallmarking jewelry directly at airports upon import is being considered to simplify this process. In this regard, instructions have been given to establish special hallmarking laboratories at the airports of Tamchy, Osh, and Bishkek. Work on this matter is currently underway," the Chairman noted.
Shykmamatov emphasized that after the project's implementation, modern hallmarking laboratories will be operational at these airports.
This will allow jewelers to save time and eliminate unnecessary procedures, which will contribute to the development of the jewelry industry, improve the business environment, and increase transparency.
