Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2026 /Kabar/. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament, Marlen Mamataliev, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a specialized Hepatology Center, which will be built on the grounds of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital in Bishkek.
The event was attended by Minister of Health Damirbek Osmonov, Minister of Architecture, Construction, and Housing and Public Utilities Nurdan Oruntaev, Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliev, founder of the Ilshat Public Foundation Anvar Mametov, medical workers, representatives of the construction company, and others.
In his speech, Marlen Mamataliev noted that the construction of the new center is an important step in the development of the country's healthcare system.
According to him, in recent years, under the leadership of Sadyr Zhaparov, special attention has been paid to developing the medical sector, modernizing medical institutions, and improving the quality of services provided to the public.
"Previously, there were many complaints from citizens regarding the state of medical institutions. Today, hospitals are being renovated, and new modern medical facilities are being actively built. Citizens should not be forced to travel abroad for treatment. Our people must receive the necessary medical care in their own country," the speaker said.
He emphasized that public health is the state's greatest asset. "Thanks to the use of modern methods, the new center will provide ample opportunities for the early detection, accurate diagnosis, and treatment of liver diseases," added Marlen Mamataliev.
Furthermore, the speaker noted that healthcare reforms are not limited to the construction and renovation of medical facilities. They are also aimed at improving doctors' working conditions and increasing their salaries.
"Our healthcare workers must have all the necessary conditions to focus exclusively on treating patients, without being distracted by everyday difficulties, and receive a fair reward for their work. The decisions made in recent years are aimed precisely at achieving this goal. "Of course, this is just the beginning; many more important reforms will be implemented in the medical sector," he said.
At the same time, Marlen Mamataliev expressed gratitude to the Ilshat Public Foundation and its founder, Anvar Mametov, for funding the center's construction.
The speaker also addressed the need for the center to be fully equipped with modern medical equipment. The sponsor, in turn, expressed its readiness to provide the center with the necessary medical equipment and supplies and hand it over fully operational.
The project calls for the construction of a modern four-story building with a total floor area of 3,100 square meters and a capacity of 100 beds. The new center will offer comprehensive facilities for initial medical examinations, in-depth diagnostics, inpatient and outpatient treatment, follow-up care, and subsequent medical support.
