Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2026 /Kabar/. The M. Mirrakhimov National Center for Cardiology and Therapy hosted an international conference and masterclass titled "Leadless Pacing Technologies," bringing together specialists from Kyrgyzstan and abroad to exchange expertise and master modern methods for treating heart rhythm disorders.

According to the ministry of health, a leadless pacemaker, a cutting-edge technology for treating heart rhythm disorders was implanted for the first time in Kyrgyzstan. This innovation offers new options for patients, including those for whom traditional pacing systems are not suitable.

A highlight of the event was the direct participation of Minister of Health Damir Osmonov in the implantation procedure, working alongside French expert Professor Elouan Marjon from the Georges Pompidou European Hospital (HEGP–AP-HP). The practical session featured "live cases," with a real-time broadcast from the catheterization laboratory, the presentation of four clinical cases, a live demonstration of the pacemaker implantation, and interactive discussions with experts.

The conference was also attended by the French Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Nicolas Fay, representatives from the international company Abbott, and local specialists in the fields of cardiology and arrhythmology.

During the event, the modern AVEIR™ VR and AVEIR™ DR leadless pacing systems, manufactured by Abbott, were showcased. The AVEIR™ VR is a single-chamber leadless pacemaker, while the AVEIR™ DR is a dual-chamber leadless pacing system. At the opening of the conference, Damir Osmonov highlighted the importance of developing cardiology services, refining methods for treating heart rhythm disorders, and implementing modern medical technologies.

According to him, the event is of particular practical value, as it offers specialists from Kyrgyzstan the opportunity to engage directly with new technologies, analyze clinical cases, and exchange experience with international colleagues.

"For us, the primary criterion for adopting new technologies remains their practical benefit to patients, their safety, and their application in accordance with medical indications and international clinical guidelines," the minister emphasized.

A significant outcome of the growing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and France was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan and AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris — the Greater Paris University Hospitals).

The document aims to foster long-term professional and scientific collaboration between the parties. Key areas of cooperation include the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions in the fields of cardiology and oncology; the conduct of joint scientific research; the organization of conferences and symposia; the professional development of medical staff through masterclasses and clinical internships; and the development and refinement of clinical protocols, incorporating international best practices.

The signing of this memorandum establishes a foundation for further strengthening partnerships between medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan and France, expanding opportunities for professional exchange, and enhancing the competencies of medical personnel in Kyrgyzstan.
