Bishkek, Aug. 29, 2026 /Kabar/. The economy of Kyrgyzstan has shown a stable high growth rate in recent years, and last year the country's economic growth amounted to 11.1 percent.

According to him, this indicator is also positively affected by the development of economic ties and integration processes between the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

"The growth of GDP in the country from year to year is due to the mutual influence of the states within the organization, which is called the integration effect. It is clear to all that it has a positive effect for Kyrgyzstan," Zhailov said.

The expert noted that over the 25 years since the establishment of the SCO, significant quantitative and qualitative changes have occurred in the organization and its member states. In his opinion, if in the 20th century Western countries dominated economically and politically, then after the establishment of the SCO, changes began in the global economic system.

“The 20th century was the era of Western countries. Western countries dominated economically and politically. However, since the establishment of the SCO, the economic system established in the global world has begun to change. The center of development is gradually shifting from the West to the East and the Asian region,” he said.

According to Zhailov, most of the SCO member states are located in the Asian region. This region is home to the largest countries in the world in terms of population, economic potential and natural resources.

“Now, 10 countries are ranked first in the world economy, and 3 of them are SCO members. They are China, India and Russia,” the expert said.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan’s economic development over the past five years has been at a consistently high level.
