Issyk-Kul International Forum results in adoption of resolution

Bishkek, June 20, 2026. /Kabar/. Following the Chyngyz Aitmatov International Issyk-Kul Forum, participants adopted a final resolution, the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic repported.

According to the Ministry, renowned scientists, writers, public and political figures, and representatives of international organizations from around the world participated in the forum. Discussions addressed issues of humanism, peacebuilding, environmental security, intercultural dialogue, and contemporary global challenges.

The adopted resolution notes that increasing geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, climate change, socioeconomic inequality, and rapid technological development require the consolidation of the international community's efforts to find sustainable solutions.

The document contains a number of initiatives aimed at developing Chyngyz Aitmatov's humanistic ideas and preserving the intellectual legacy of the Issyk-Kul Forum. Proposals include strengthening international dialogue, promoting a culture of peace and mutual understanding, environmental protection, preserving mountain ecosystems and glaciers, supporting young researchers, and ensuring the forum's continued operation on a permanent basis.

The resolution proposes holding the Issyk-Kul Forum in Kyrgyzstan once every four years, establishing a Permanent Coordinating Council (Secretariat) for the forum in Bishkek, and continuing to promote initiatives aimed at enhancing its international status.

Forum participants expressed their readiness to promote the provisions of the resolution and submit the proposals contained therein to authoritative international organizations for further consideration and support.

As a reminder, the International Issyk-Kul Forum was founded in 1986 on the initiative of the eminent writer Chyngyz Aitmatov as an international intellectual platform for discussing pressing issues of human development.

In 2026, the forum celebrates its 40th anniversary.
