Bishkek, June 29, 2025. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in Cholpon-Ata city of Kyrgyzstan.
The parties discussed current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within the framework of integration associations.
The head of state emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches priority importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with the Russian Federation, which is consistently strengthening in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership.
President Zhaparov noted that Russia remains the most important trade and economic partner of Kyrgyzstan. Direct investment from Russia demonstrates positive dynamics, and the Russian Federation continues to be the largest investor in the country's economy.
Sadyr Zhaparov paid special attention to the role of the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund, calling it one of the key instruments in strengthening investment cooperation.
The President outlined positive changes in the country's economy, emphasizing that Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant results over the past three years.
"Kyrgyzstan is confidently moving along the path of sustainable development and progress. Our priorities include energy, transport, digitalization, tourism, as well as the development of rare earth and critical mineral resources," the President noted.
For his part, Sergey Lavrov, first of all, conveyed words of greeting from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
"The fact that heads of state set the tone in establishing interactions, in solving problems that arise in a variety of areas, obliges us, as foreign ministers, to actively ensure the coordinated work of all government bodies," said Minister Sergey Lavrov.
He also emphasized that in addition to bilateral plans, there are regular tasks that are being solved within the framework of integration processes in the common CIS space. This includes the Commonwealth of Independent States itself, of course, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the CSTO, where Kyrgyzstan currently presides.
The Russian foreign minister also noted the importance of the reforms being carried out in Kyrgyzstan and expressed Russia's readiness to further expand cooperation in key areas.
In conclusion, the parties confirmed their commitment to further developing allied relations and deepening interaction in the international arena.
