Bishkek, May 13, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev inspected the construction of the Northern Bypass Road as part of the "Open Cabinet" project.
Earlier, the chairman visited the Issyk-Kul region and arrived at the site by helicopter. He was presented with the asphalt materials used in the road construction, as well as project roadmaps.
The total length of the Northern Bypass Road is 33.4 km. The road will be widened to 6 lanes, and interchanges will be expanded to 2+2 lanes. The width of each lane, in accordance with international standards, will be 3.75 meters.
Currently, 24.3 km of the Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent highway and 9.1 kilometers of the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart road are being completely reconstructed.
The project includes the construction of 13 interchanges: 11 of them will be built from scratch, and two will undergo major repairs. Bridge widening is also underway. Furthermore, traffic lights will not be installed in these areas. This will ensure uninterrupted traffic flow without congestion.
Pedestrians will have overpasses, 2.25-meter-wide sidewalks, and a modern lighting system.
It is worth noting that the "Open Cabinet" project allows for the open and unvarnished display of government agencies' work, from morning to evening, throughout the working day.
Adylbek Kasymaliev is visiting several sites today in Bishkek, Chui, and Issyk-Kul regions.
