Bishkek, July 2, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz alphabet will remain unchanged, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of information policy service of presidential administration informs.
According to him, in recent days, a proposal by certain scientists from the National Academy of Sciences concerning the letters "Э" and "Е" in Kyrgyz language has been actively discussed in society.
Orunbekov emphasized that this initiative is solely the personal position of its authors and does not reflect the official position of the state.
"The Kyrgyz alphabet, as before, consists of 36 letters and will remain unchanged," he noted.
Orunbekov called on the authors of such initiatives to approach their public discussion responsibly. He stated that before submitting such proposals to public scrutiny, they must carefully assess their necessity, potential consequences, and consider public interests to avoid provoking unfounded disputes and public discontent.
