Bishkek, Sep. 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, September 16, as part of his official visit to Korea, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung in Seoul.

The parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda, identified the most promising areas, and outlined concrete steps to expand bilateral cooperation.

President Lee Jae-myung warmly welcomed President Sadyr Zhaparov and noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992, bilateral cooperation has consistently developed in various areas.

He expressed hope that, building on their existing high potential, Kyrgyzstan and Korea will further expand mutual contacts and exchanges.

Taking this opportunity, the Korean president congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, emphasizing that this is evidence of the high level of international trust in the Kyrgyz Republic.

President Lee Jae-myung also noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries' investment agencies and expressed hope for further development of collaboration, including in the implementation of infrastructure projects.

President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed his sincere gratitude to President Lee Jae-myung for the invitation to pay an official visit to Korea and for the warm hospitality extended to the Kyrgyz delegation.

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan views Korea as a priority partner in the Asia-Pacific region and places particular importance on strengthening comprehensive dialogue.

President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the absence of political differences and the closeness of our countries' positions on many international and regional issues create a solid foundation for expanding Kyrgyz-Korean cooperation.

During the talks, President Sadyr Zhaparov proposed establishing a joint medical center in Kyrgyzstan, exploring mechanisms for visa facilitation, and promoting the export of Kyrgyz goods to Korean markets.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the two countries maintain regular political dialogue at the highest level. He emphasized that the agreements reached during his official visit to the Republic of Korea in December 2024 are being consistently implemented and are already yielding concrete results.

To further strengthen bilateral relations, President Sadyr Zhaparov invited his counterpart to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In conclusion, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Kyrgyz-Korean strategic partnership and expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation at the bilateral and international levels.
