Kyrgyz artists successfully perform in Tashkent, Andijan, and Bukhara

Bishkek, June 8, 2026. /Kabar/. Theater figures from Kyrgyzstan visited several cities in Uzbekistan, where they held several important events aimed at popularizing Kyrgyz culture and drama.

According to the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, the one-man show "Kusa" ("Longing"), directed by Ulanmyrza Karypbaev, was presented to audiences in Andijan, Tashkent, and Bukhara.

On June 2, the show was performed in Andijan, and on June 3, at the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. Representatives of Uzbek culture, national artists, and staff from the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan participated in the events.

Following the Tashkent performance, Alymkul Isakov conducted an acting master class for the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, during which theater professionals from both countries exchanged experiences. On June 5, the one-man show "Kusa" continued to be performed in Bukhara.

"On the same day, the Bukhara Regional Music and Drama Theater premiered the Uzbek-language drama "Kyl Kopuro" ("Thin Bridge"), written by playwright and member of the Writers' Union of the Kyrgyz Republic, Gulasal Aliyeva," the statement says.

"Kyl Kopuro" was previously staged in Kyrgyzstan by the young director Janylai Isakova, successfully presented at the Maltepe International Festival in Turkiye, and received several awards.
