Bishkek, March 6, 2025. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man as part of an official visit, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers conveyed greetings on behalf of President Sadyr Zhaparov, as well as the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.
"Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam are linked by long-standing strong ties of friendship. The Kyrgyz Republic is ready to take bilateral relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to a new level. Vietnam, having come a long way in the struggle for independence and building a strong, dynamically developing state, is an important partner for Kyrgyzstan in the Southeast Asian region. We respect the achievements of the Vietnamese people and appreciate the role that Vietnam plays in the international arena. The Kyrgyz side attaches particular importance to inter-parliamentary cooperation. We consider the development of inter-parliamentary ties as one of the key areas of bilateral relations," he said, expressing hope that contacts between the parliaments of the two countries, as well as the exchange of experience in the legislative sphere, will be actively continued.
Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that the parliamentary friendship group "Kyrgyzstan - Vietnam" operates in the Jogorku Kenesh, which can become an effective dialogue platform for discussing the prospects for cooperation and implementing joint initiatives.
Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man, in turn, expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral ties, especially in the field of parliamentary interaction, noting the importance of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
"Vietnam attaches great importance to maintaining friendly relations and strengthening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. I am convinced that your official visit to our country will give impetus to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my congratulations on the positive results achieved by the country in recent years in socio-economic development. We remember and thank the Soviet Union, including the Kyrgyz people, for supporting Vietnam during the struggle for the country's independence," said Tran Thanh Man.
The parties discussed the prospects for joint work in international organizations. Due to the fact that Vietnam, like Kyrgyzstan, is a mountainous country, the head of the Cabinet proposed that the Vietnamese side jointly promote the mountain agenda at the global level and take part in international events initiated by Kyrgyzstan. Adylbek Kasymaliev also asked the Vietnamese side to support Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN for 2027-2028.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that further deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation will be an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam.
