Bishkek, Nov. 6, 2025. /Kabar/. Cabinet of Ministers is introducing measures to increase energy efficiency and rational use of electricity. As part of these measures, a decision was made to appropriately regulate the internal and external lighting and electrical appliances of administrative state institutions from 6:00 PM to 06:00 AM.

These measures will not affect processes that are extremely important for the technological life of buildings, and will not apply to strategic facilities and organizations that operate around the clock, ensuring protection, security, healthcare, social protection and the livelihood of the population.

It is expected that the implementation of these measures will significantly increase energy efficiency and save approximately 40 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per month.

It is worth noting that in the first nine months of this year, electricity consumption in Kyrgyzstan showed record growth, increasing by almost 1 billion kilowatt-hours. This is due, among other things, to the commissioning of new industrial enterprises, social and educational institutions, as well as the expansion of the volume of housing construction.

At the same time, the features of the current growing season are characterized by a decrease in the flow of water into Naryn River. Currently, the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir is 2 billion cubic meters less than the indicators for the same period last year. This situation requires an active approach to the rational management of water and energy resources.

The primary task of the Cabinet is to rationally use water in the Toktogul reservoir and optimize the load on energy equipment, which is extremely important for the reliable operation of the entire energy system.
