Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia have reported low water flow. This was announced at a meeting chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev.

As of today, the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir is 9.102 billion cubic meters. This figure is 1.631 billion cubic meters less than the same date in 2025.

In this regard, experts are warning that due to the lack of water, the volume of electricity generation will also be lower. For this reason, the need to maintain the approved limit was noted. However, as the analysis shows, the limits for electricity are not being observed.
