Bishkek, March 13, 2025. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan Tynchtyk Shainazarov met ton Wednesday with the UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grawe and UNDP Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Alexandra Solovyova.
According to the CEC, the sides noted that the necessity to ensure the inclusiveness of elections and improve the legal culture of the population, increase the involvement of the younger generation in the electoral processes and ensure conditions for their active participation in the elections.
It should be noted that according to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Youth", the age of youth has been increased to 35 years. Now the share of young voters (aged 18 to 35 inclusive) in the structure of the voter list throughout the republic is 43.57%, which is 1,735,417 people.
Within the framework of the partnership, the joint efforts of the CEC and UN agencies in Kyrgyzstan will be aimed at creating an accessible and understandable environment that stimulates interest in the voting process and the importance of civic responsibility. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation in order to strengthen democratic processes in Kyrgyzstan.
