Bishkek, March 26, 2026 /Kabar/. The traditional annual meeting of Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev with representatives of the expert community took place.
According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, during the event on March 26, the head of the foreign ministry presented information on the diplomatic service's performance in 2025 and outlined the ministry's current tasks.
In particular, Kulubaev highlighted the historical significance of completing the border delimitation with Tajikistan as an important step in strengthening regional stability. High activity also continued at the international level: 190 meetings and visits were held, over 600 documents were signed, and Kyrgyzstan's diplomatic presence expanded with the opening of new embassies in Ethiopia and Egypt. Digitalization of the consular sphere became an important focus: the launch of the "Electronic Consul" system reduced document processing time by four times, and the organization of elections to Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) abroad ensured increased turnout among compatriots.
Speaking about the international agenda, the minister reaffirmed his commitment to the principle of multi-vector policy and stated that Kyrgyzstan maintains a balanced position in relations with strategic partners, Russia, China, Central Asian countries, and Western countries, advocating for the peaceful resolution of conflicts based on international law.
Touching on plans for 2026, he emphasized the special significance of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the SCO, which coincides with the organization's 25th anniversary, and outlined Bishkek's priorities for this period. He also discussed preparations for the 6th World Nomad Games and the Chingiz Aitmatov Issyk-Kul Forum, which will serve as important platforms for promoting cultural diplomacy and strengthening the country's image on the global stage.
At the end of the meeting, Kulubaev answered questions from experts, emphasizing the Foreign Ministry's openness to proposals and constructive dialogue.
