Bishkek, March 26, 2025. /Kabar /. On March 25, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Meder Abakirov, met with President of the France–Central Asia Friendship Group of the French Senate, Herve Maurey, in Paris.
During the conversation, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-French cooperation, paying special attention to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.
It was noted that with the opening of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Paris, contacts between the parliaments of the two countries have significantly intensified. In continuation of this work, the Kyrgyz side proposed to organize annual exchange visits of parliamentary delegations to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation. It was emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has significant potential in the energy sector, and French companies are interested in participating in projects for the construction of hydroelectric power plants and the development of renewable energy sources in the country.
In addition, the parties expressed their willingness to continue joint cultural projects and festivals that contribute to strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual commitment to further develop the Kyrgyz-French partnership and expressed confidence that regular interparliamentary dialogue would become an important tool for deepening bilateral cooperation.
