Bishkek, Dec. 11, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing, and Public Utilities Nurdan Oruntaev visited newly renovated building and learned about the work of the newly established department of engineering surveys within the ministry.
According to the ministry, during the working visit, department director Bolot Cholponbaev showed the minister the building after its major renovation and provided information on the work completed. Oruntaev noted the important role of engineering surveys in the construction industry and emphasized that the department's future success depends primarily on the professionalism and responsibility of its employees. He also wished the team success.
It is noted that the history of engineering surveys in the construction industry in Kyrgyzstan dates back to 1975. That year, in accordance with order from the Gosstroy of the Kyrgyz SSR, the Kyrgyz Main Institute of Engineering Surveys in Construction (KyrgyzGIIZ) was established on December 26, 1975. In 1993, the institute was reorganized and granted the status of open joint-stock company.
Then, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated July 15, 2025, the department of engineering surveys was established under the Ministry of Construction to continue the institute's operations.
"Since the department's establishment, at the direction of Nurdan Oruntaev, the building, which had not been renovated for 50 years, has been completely renovated and commissioned," the statement says. The main mission of the department is to ensure that engineering surveys conducted in the country are scientifically sound, reliable, comprehensive, accurate, and safe for design, construction, and operation.
