Bishkek, April 9, 2025. /Kabar/. Today, a meeting with representatives of the mission of the British Office for National Statistics was held at the National Statistical Committee.
According to the information of the Statistics Commitee, the purpose of the visit is to discuss areas of expanding cooperation in the field of statistics between the two statistical agencies.
First Deputy Chairperson Nazira Kerimalieva presented information on the areas of work of the statistical system of the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasizing the key achievements of development, and the head of the international department of the British Office for National Statistics Kirsten Newton spoke about the system of official statistics of Great Britain.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of international methodologies, as well as training and advanced training of employees of statistical bodies.
In addition, the topic of monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators, which the National Statistical Committee conducts with the support of the British Office for National Statistics and the UN Statistics Division, was touched upon. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations and deepen cooperation, focusing on improving statistical production and exchanging experience in innovative approaches to statistical analysis.
