Kyrgyz-Romanian inter-ministerial consultations held in Bucharest

Bishkek, June 10, 2026 /Kabar/. Inter-Ministerial consultations were held between Kyrgyzstan and Romania in Bucharest with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov and State Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ana Cristina Tink.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed the current state and development directions of Kyrgyz-Romanian relations, issues of interaction of Kyrgyzstan with the European Union, regional security, as well as cooperation within international organizations.

Special attention was also paid to strengthening political dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, energy, transport, education, cultural and humanitarian and tourism spheres.

Kyrgyz side noted the positive trends in the country's economic development, significant opportunities for further activation of mutual trade and investment cooperation.

During the meeting, State Secretary Ana Cristina Tinca congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028, noting the country's growing role in international affairs. At the same time, she expressed her readiness to continue close cooperation within the framework of the UN and other international organizations.

Romanian side confirmed its interest in further strengthening bilateral relations with Kyrgyzstan, expanding political dialogue and developing practical cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

As a result of the talks, a joint action plan was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Romania for 2026-2028, aimed at strengthening interaction between institutions and developing bilateral partnership.
