Bishkek, Dec. 5, 2025. /Kabar/. Over the past two years, the State Mortgage Company (SMC) has demonstrated record results in implementing My Home state housing program, Gulzat Totubaeva, head of the population relations department at SMC informs.
According to her, the company was established in 2016 and initially operated through partner banks. "Our task back then was quite simple: we screened citizens for eligibility for the program, and the banks made decisions on whether to grant or deny financing. Thus, by the end of 2022, approximately 9,000 mortgage loans had been issued.
Totubaeva noted that after analyzing the situation, the country's leadership made an important decision to completely change its approach to mortgage policy. "We've turned our operations around; we've stopped working through banks and started building housing ourselves," she said. Starting in 2023, SMC began allocating funds to finance the construction of multi-story residential buildings across the country. "In 2023, we issued 4,662 mortgaged apartments. In 2026, the waiting list for housing through SMC will be moved up faster she emphasized.
