Bishkek, Aug. 7, 2026 /Kabar/. The State Enterprise Kyrgyz Temir Zholu and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) signed two letters of intent to implement investment projects.

Azamat Sakiev, General Director of State Enterprise Kyrgyz Temir Zholu and Artem Novikov, RKDF Chairman of the Board sign documents on August 6 at the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum.

The first agreement provides for the technological equipment of a wheel-turning shop for the repair of locomotive wheelsets. The second agreement covers the joint development of a project to acquire 200 container flatcars.

The implementation of these projects will modernize production and railway infrastructure, improve the efficiency of rolling stock operations, develop container shipping, and strengthen Kyrgyzstan's transit potential.

Furthermore, Azamat Sakiev spoke at the panel session "Kyrgyzstan - a Regional Hub: New Transport Corridors," where he presented promising projects for the development of the railway industry.

Main focus was on construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, one of the country's key infrastructure projects. Its implementation is aimed at expanding international transport links and improving the efficiency of freight transportation.

Furthermore, projects for developing the domestic railway network, modernizing the Kyrgyz Temir Zholu production base, and introducing modern technologies in the industry were presented.
