Bishkek, Feb. 7, 2026. /Kabar/. On February 6, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Musaev met with French Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Nicolas Faye.
According to the ministry, during the meeting, the French side expressed its readiness to support Kyrgyzstan's participation in COP21, which will be held in Yerevan in 2026, including organizing side events on biodiversity issues.
Prospects for cooperation in biodiversity conservation, specially protected natural areas, and the protection of rare species were also discussed.
Almaz Musaev noted the ongoing work in biodiversity conservation, including the development of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), and emphasized the vulnerability of Kyrgyzstan's mountain ecosystems and glaciers to climate change.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation.
