Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2026. /Kabar/. A bilateral meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Erlist Akunbekov and Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov was held in Almaty the day before.
According to the ministry, the agenda of the meeting included issues of stable wheat supplies, transit of Russian wheat through the territory of Kazakhstan, supply of mineral fertilizers, as well as cooperation in the processing of agricultural products, digitalization and breeding of pedigree livestock.
The ministers noted their readiness to work with agroholdings of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to develop the issue of food wheat supplies.
The Kyrgyz side also expressed interest in expanding purchases of Kazakh wheat, proposing to find solutions for the regular transit of Russian wheat through Kazakhstan.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of attracting investments in the processing of agricultural products, developing logistics infrastructure, digitizing agriculture, and developing pedigree livestock.
As a result of the meeting, the ministers confirmed their readiness for further coordination and the implementation of specific joint projects.
