Bishkek, April 17, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan Kim Kwang-jae.
According to the ministry, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for deepening economic ties.
During the meeting, the minister noted that the Republic of Korea is one of the key strategic partners of Kyrgyzstan.
The head of the Ministry of Economy informed the ambassador about the current economic situation in the country, as well as about the measures taken to improve the investment climate and attract foreign investment.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the existing mechanisms of interaction, including the work of the intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Korean commission on economic cooperation, the Council on Trade and Investment, as well as the office of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), operating in Bishkek. The parties emphasized the importance of increasing trade volumes and creating joint ventures with access to foreign markets. The possibility of using Korean experience in the field of innovation and digital technologies to modernize key sectors of the Kyrgyz economy was separately discussed.
