Kyrgyzstan attaches importance to strengthening relations with Iran: Cabinet

Almaty, Jan.31, 2025. /Kabar/. As part of the working visit to Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan – Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev met with First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref.

The meeting was held within the framework of the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly relations with Iran and is ready to continue political dialog and interaction at all levels with the Iranian side.

“There is great potential for the development of trade and economic cooperation between our countries. Investment cooperation with Iran is one of the priority areas of economic diplomacy of our government. In this regard, I would like to emphasize our interest and readiness for joint efforts to increase trade and attract Iranian investments in the economy of Kyrgyzstan,” Kasymaliev said.

In turn, First VP of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref congratulated his interlocutor on appointment to the responsible post. He expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation and effective implementation of joint projects.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of Kyrgyz-Iranian cooperation in trade and economic, investment, transportation and logistics spheres, as well as cooperation within the EAEU.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of using the Shahid Rajaee seaport in Bandar Abbas city.
