Bishkek, Aug 6, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Minister of Transport and Communications Talantbek Soltobaev met Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping. During the meeting they discussed the implementation of strategic transport projects, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, a new road along the Barskoon-Uchturfan-Aksu route through the Bedel checkpoint, and the construction of a road border bridge across the Uzongu-Kuush (Chon-Uzung-Gush) River.

The parties also discussed the current state of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation in transport and priority areas for its further development.

The minister noted the steady growth in trade turnover between the two countries, emphasizing that this trend confirms the need to further develop transport links.

Particular attention was paid to finalizing the draft intergovernmental agreement on international road transport between Kyrgyzstan and China, as well as preparing a draft agreement on the construction of a road border bridge across the Uzon-Kuush (Chon-Uzun-Gush) River at the Bedel checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border.

Furthermore, the meeting participants discussed logistics issues related to the transportation of fuel and lubricants.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation in transport and logistics, as well as to continue interaction on issues of mutual interest.
