Bishkek, June 9, 2026. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision continues to take strict measures to prevent illegal hunting and protect wildlife.
Ministry inspectors conduct ongoing raids and inspections throughout the country, including based on information received from citizens. All identified violations of environmental legislation are referred to law enforcement agencies for action in accordance with the laws of Kyrgyz Republic.
The ministry reminded that killing of rare animal species listed in Red Book is illegal.
Fines for killing animal are as follows:
- 20,000 soms for the Central Asian otter and Menzbier's marmot;
- 10,000 soms for the stone marten, marbled polecat, Indian porcupine, long-spined hedgehog, common water shrew, bats (Bukhara and lesser horseshoe bats, Asian barnacles, white-bellied arrowheads, and broad-eared lapwings), and jerboas (lesser jerboas, mudskippers, and Severtsov's jerboas).
Ministry of natural resources urged citizens to comply with environmental laws and report poaching by calling the hotline at 108. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
