Kyrgyzstan, Finland discuss interregional cooperation

Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz and the Finnish Foreign Ministries held political consultations in Bishkek.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties noted the mutually beneficial and constructive nature of Kyrgyz-Finnish relations and expressed mutual interest in further deepening political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

During the consultations, issues of interregional cooperation were discussed, including the development of the "Central Asia-Northern Europe (C5+N5)" dialogue. Exchange of views was held on topical issues of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the UN, OSCE and the European Union.

In the humanitarian sphere, the parties noted the importance of developing cooperation in the fields of culture, education and science and welcomed the holding in Bishkek of a photo exhibition dedicated to the travels of General Carl Gustav Mannerheim in Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan.

As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen the Kyrgyz-Finnish partnership and conduct regular political dialogue.
