Bishkek, March 12, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, Minister of Health Damir Osmonov met with UNDP Permanent Representative Alexandra Solovyova.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results and promising directions of cooperation in the healthcare sector, and new Global Fund grant cycle, providing medical institutions with medicines and equipment and preparing.
As noted, the logistics of purchasing and delivering medical supplies with the support of UNDP are continuing. Currently, relevant procedures are underway to provide healthcare organizations with the necessary products in a timely manner.
Kyrgyzstan is preparing an application for the new grant of Global Fund, which will open in June. Special working group of experts has been working for this.
The volume of donor assistance is expected to gradually decrease due to the growth of the country's income level. This requires a phased increase in the state's share in financing public health programs.
UNDP confirmed that it will continue to provide expert and technical support in the implementation of programs. The parties agreed to continue joint efforts to ensure the sustainability of programs to combat tuberculosis and HIV infection, as well as to strengthen the medicine supply system.
