Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry signed a protocol following talks with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
According to the ministry, Deputy Minister Rysgul Akimzhanova signed the document. The protocol was adopted in preparation for a joint project to develop vegetable and fruit and vegetable clusters, scheduled for implementation in 2027.
The project aims to increase the competitiveness of domestic vegetable, fruit, and berry products and create added value at all stages, from production to processing, storage, and sales.
During the talks, the parties discussed the application of a cluster approach, the introduction of modern technologies, and the development of organic agriculture. Particular attention was paid to strengthening laboratory capacity in organic agriculture and improving the qualifications of specialists.
The signing of the protocol marked another step in Kyrgyzstan's cooperation with JICA to develop the agricultural sector and enhance the export potential of domestic vegetable and fruit products.
