Based on the results of last year, Kyrgyzstan is in second place after Kazakhstan in the spread of measles, the representative of the World Health Organization in Kyrgyzstan Elnura Dushenalieva told at an event organized by the Ministry of Health on immunization issues.
According to her, when calculating the population, Kyrgyzstan is ahead of Kazakhstan, and mainly cases of measles occur among children under 5 years old.
One person with measles can infect 12 to 18 people at the same time. Measles is transmitted by airborne droplets, and the incubation period is from 10 to 14 days.
