Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia seek to deepen trade, economic, and investment ties

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2026. /Kabar/., Ravshanbek Sabirov, Head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, met today with Sodnom Gankhuyag, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the National Investment Agency reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Agency for Investment and Trade of Mongolia, signed on October 24, 2024.

The parties confirmed their interest in expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation in industry, agriculture, tourism, the green economy, and digital development.

"Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia are bound by centuries-old ties of friendship and mutual respect. We view Mongolia as an important partner and see significant potential for expanding cooperation. The Kyrgyz Republic is consistently improving its investment climate and is ready to fully support joint projects," noted Ravshanbek Sabirov.

Special attention was paid to measures to improve the investment climate, including the adoption of the laws "On Investments in the Kyrgyz Republic" and "On Public-Private Partnership," as well as the development of the draft law "On Venture Capital Financing."

In the context of the agreements reached following the state visit of the President of Mongolia to the Kyrgyz Republic in July 2025, prospects for establishing joint ventures in the light, textile, and processing industries were discussed. Issues related to the implementation of the decisions of the 5th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Mongolian Intergovernmental Commission, including joint business missions and investment events, were also discussed. Following the meeting, mutual readiness for the further development of investment and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia was confirmed.
