Bishkek, May 28, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's experience in social protection and poverty reduction discussed in Beijing, Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan reports.
According to the ministry, First Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchybek Dosmatov participated in the Global Forum on Poverty Reduction and Development, which held May 26-28 in Beijing.
The forum is dedicated to poverty reduction, rural development, digitalization of social support, and strengthening international cooperation in the social sphere.
Speaking at the session "Inclusive Social Protection and Poverty Reduction: The Experience of the Kyrgyz Republic," Kamchybek Dosmatov noted that poverty reduction is a priority of Kyrgyzstan's state policy.
"Kyrgyzstan is consistently implementing measures aimed at improving the population's standard of living, developing human capital, and ensuring social justice," he emphasized.
According to him, approximately 1.5 million people currently receive services from the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration. More than 476,000 citizens receive social benefits and compensation, and over 590,000 people have used labor, employment, and migration services.
Special attention was paid to employment and increasing incomes in his speech. It was noted that the unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan has decreased to 3.7%.
The first deputy minister also noted that the state's priorities include supporting low-income families, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and promoting employment.
The presentation also included a presentation of the "Social Contract" program, aimed at supporting entrepreneurship in low-income families and creating sustainable sources of income.
According to Kamchybek Dosmatov, attention is also being paid to the digitalization of the social sector: state social services are being gradually converted to electronic format, the range of online services is being expanded, and the processes for providing social assistance are being automated.
In conclusion, Dosmatov confirmed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to further develop international cooperation and exchange experience in social policy.
