Kyrgyzstan records cash circulation increase

Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2026. /Kabar/. According to the results of the fourth quarter of 2025, Kyrgyzstan recorded increase in the volume of cash in circulation, as well as increase in cash receipts and disbursements through commercial bank cash desks.

These data were released by the National Statistical Committee.

As of January 1, 2026, the total amount of cash in circulation amounted to 300 billion 778.3 million soms. 36 billion 166.7 million soms were in commercial bank cash desks, and 264 billion 611.6 million soms were outside the banking system. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of cash in circulation increased by 51 billion 822.1 million soms, or 24.4 percent.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, commercial bank cash desks across the republic received 1 trillion 680 billion 175.6 million soms. This is 264 billion 920.6 million soms, or 18.7 percent, more than in the same period of 2024.

At the same time, commercial bank cash desks issued 1 trillion 692 billion 591.4 million soms in the reporting quarter, which is 271 billion 568.5 million soms, or 19.1 percent, higher than in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The cash return rate for commercial bank cash desks in the fourth quarter of 2025 was 99.3 percent. This figure decreased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

Overall, cash circulation indicators in the republic indicate increase in the volume of cash transactions and a high degree of return of funds to the banking system.
