Kyrgyzstan sees decrease in influenza incidence

Bishkek, Feb. 26, 2025. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported on the epidemiological situation with influenza and acute respiratory viral infections.

According to operational data from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, in the 8th week of 2025 (February 17 - 23) 10,082 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and 60 cases of influenza (i.p. 142.9) were registered in the republic, compared to the previous week (7th week i.p. 153.1) lower by -6.6%. Of those infected, 5.1% (520 infected) were hospitalized.

According to the results of laboratory tests, the circulation of acute respiratory viral infections has been observed since October, with the most prevalent being rhinovirus - 27.4%, respiratory syncytial virus - 27.1%, adenovirus - 12.8%, parainfluenza I-IV - 11.9%, others - 20.8% (including metapneumovirus 2.2%).

Since mid-December 2024, there has been a flu season caused by influenza A / (H1N1 (2009) - 59.6%, isolated cases of influenza B - 36.1% and COVID-19 - 4.3%.

In order to timely organize anti-epidemic measures and prevent outbreaks, monitoring of children's attendance at schools is carried out.
