Bishkek, March 12, 2026. /Kabar/. For the 2026 harvest, the total area sown with agricultural crops in Kyrgyzstan is planned at 1,250,000 hectares. Of this, 818,000 hectares are irrigated lands, and 432,000 hectares are rainfed, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
The spring sowing is currently underway in the southern regions of the country (Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions) and in the Chui Valley. Sowing has not yet begun in the Talas, Issyk-Kul, and Naryn regions, the ministry said.
According to data of the ministry, spring grain crops: only 32,600 hectares have been sown across the republic.
Wheat: 11,400 hectares (Osh Region – 5,700 hectares, Jalal-Abad Region – 2,500 hectares, Chui Region – 1,700 hectares, Batken Region – 1,500 hectares).
Barley: 13,500 hectares (Chui Region – 6,300 hectares, Jalal-Abad Region – 3,200 hectares, Batken Region – 3,100 hectares, Osh Region – 900 hectares).
Potatoes: 2,400 hectares have been planted (Osh Region – 1,700 hectares, Jalal-Abad Region – 600 hectares, Batken Region – 800 hectares).
Vegetables: 5.0 hectares have been planted in Osh Region.
