Kyrgyzstan to apply hydroponic technologies in agriculture

Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2026 /Kabar/. A meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Bekten Bekbolotov and representatives of the international company Pronova, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the implementation of modern agricultural technologies, including hydroponic crop cultivation, greenhouse development, and the use of in vitro technology for the production of high-quality planting material.

Pronova representatives presented their experience implementing projects in the field of high-efficiency crop production and expressed interest in developing these areas in the Kyrgyz Republic. The company plans to build a hydroponic crop cultivation system in the country using modern technological solutions, the report said.

Bekbolotov emphasized the importance of introducing innovative technologies into the agro-industrial complex, noting that the development of hydroponics and greenhouse farming contributes to improved food security, efficient use of water resources, and increased agricultural production.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further interaction, information exchange, and exploration of possible forms of cooperation, including the implementation of joint investment projects.
