Bishkek, June 8, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has tightened anti-poaching measures, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the presidential administration's information policy service told.

According to him, from now on, unannounced inspections will be conducted on a regular basis, as well as detentions based on confidential information received from citizens.

Orunbekov noted that residents of every village must prevent hunters from harming wild animals. He also urged citizens to report cases of illegal hunting.

"Wild animals have long ceased to be a food source for humans. There's plenty of food now, and farms are full of livestock. It's not worth the risk of paying 300,000 soms for trying to shoot a single mountain goat," he emphasized.

According to him, the fine for illegally hunting argali is 1.5 million soms, and for shooting a snow leopard, 2 million soms. Appropriate penalties and fines are prescribed for each animal and bird.
