Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye to expand trade and economic ties

Bishkek, March 18, 2026. /Kabar/. Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Istanbul Chingiz Toktobekov paid a working visit to Sakarya province on March 17-18.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he met with the governor of the province, Rahmi Dogan. The parties discussed issues of developing interregional cooperation within the framework of friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye.

In particular, the issues of expanding trade and economic ties, attracting investments, strengthening cooperation in the educational and cultural and humanitarian sectors, as well as implementing joint projects and establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs were discussed.

In addition, the situation of Kyrgyz citizens living and working in Sakarya province, their rights protection and social issues were discussed. It was noted that close cooperation with the local authorities will continue in this direction.

They also expressed their readiness to further expand bilateral cooperation and implement mutually beneficial projects.
