Kyrgyzstan, US EXIM Bank discuss cooperation prospects

Bishkek, April 15, 2026. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev met with EXIM Bank President and Chairman John Yovanovitch. The meeting took place in Washington as part of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possible areas of bilateral financial cooperation.

Adylbek Kasymaliev spoke with EXIM Bank about Kyrgyzstan's current economic development and the country's achievements over the past five years.

In turn, John Yovanovitch briefed the Cabinet head on EXIM Bank's key activities, its role and place in US financial and credit policy, and expressed his readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue a constructive dialogue on establishing partnerships in areas of mutual interest.

For reference: The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is the official US federal export credit agency dedicated to supporting American exports. As of fiscal year 2025, EXIM's total exposure was $34.8 billion.
