Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus may be exempted from mandatory registration in either country for up to 30 calendar days from the date of entry. A draft law on the ratification of an agreement providing for this arrangement was approved today in its second reading by the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration.
The draft law was developed to ratify an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Belarus, which was signed in Minsk on September 29, 2025.
According to the agreement, citizens of one state, while temporarily staying in the territory of the other, are exempt from the requirement to register with the competent authorities of the host state for a period of 30 calendar days from the date of entry.
The document aims to create favorable conditions for travel between the two countries by eliminating the registration requirement, and to foster the expansion of trade, economic, and tourism ties between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.
The presenter noted that the adoption of the bill would not entail any negative financial, economic, or other consequences, nor would it require additional expenditures from the national budget. The committee members unanimously supported the document in its second reading.
