Bishkek, March 24, 2026. /Kabar/. As of January 31, 2026, there were 23 commercial banks and 306 branches operating in Kyrgyzstan, according to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the data, total assets of the banking sector have increased by 10.7% since the beginning of the year, reaching 1,340.7 billion soms. Banks' loan portfolios also grew by 1%, reaching 512 billion soms.
The volume of financing based on Islamic principles increased by 1%, reaching 19.3 billion soms. At the same time, the volume of deposits increased by 1.6%, reaching 880 billion soms. Overall, the indicators indicate stable development of the banking sector and growing public confidence in the country's financial institutions.
