Bishkek, March 11, 2026. /Kabar/. International expert mission of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is visiting Bishkek, their mission is to modernize the pharmaceutical industry of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, this event, planned for March 10-12, is aimed at introducing international GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards into domestic pharmaceutical production. In accordance with it, UNIDO experts are visiting domestic enterprises and assessing production processes.
The mission is organized within the framework of the country's program for 2025-2029, which considers the pharmaceutical sector as a priority area of the country's economy.
The introduction of GMP standards will not only improve the quality of medicines, but also open the way for Kyrgyz manufacturers to enter the EAEU and international markets.
During the workshop, the level of readiness of enterprises was discussed and the necessary steps for modernization were identified. The final meeting of the mission will be held on March 12, during which specific initiatives will be adopted to strengthen the pharmaceutical potential of Kyrgyzstan.
As noted, this step is of strategic importance in providing the country with quality medicines and strengthening pharmaceutical independence.
